Collins named new NCAA National Coordinator

Please join NISOA in extending a huge congratulations to John Collins on being named the next NCAA National Coordinator of Soccer Officials! John succeeds Ryan Cigich who served in this role since 2012, and who will be moving into a new capacity as Big 12 Coordinator of Officials. We congratulate Ryan on his new role and look forward to continuing to work with him in this new role.

John has an extensive resume that covers all areas of officiating, assessing, and assigning in the collegiate landscape as well as US Soccer. As an active member of the NISOA family for over 30 years, John has served as an active collegiate official from 1993 to 2017 and with that received appointments to numerous NCAA and Conference Tournament matches in Division I, II & III. He’s also been the assignor for ten different conferences including the East Coast Conference, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, and Middle Atlantic Conference, just to name a few. Recently in NY, John helped lead a practical training session for officials in partnership with NISOA, you can read more about that event here

In addition to being a National Assessor for NISOA since 2016, John is also a National Referee Coach for US Soccer. Additionally with PRO, John serves as a match assessor and a talent identifier, working within the highest level officials and helping to identify the next generation of officials in the professional game.

John officially begins his new role on July 1, 2023.

Please join NISOA in proudly welcoming the newest NCAA National Coordinator of Officials. We are incredibly excited for John in his newest role with the NCAA and look forward to collaborating with him on future initiatives!
