Celebrating Black History Month

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. NISOA is committed to a diverse community that drives our organization forward and so throughout the month of February we’re using our network to recognize some of the black leaders who helped shape American history as well as showcase some of our black members on our social media platforms to provide more visibility for the incredible work they are doing!

Taking Action:

  • We encourage you to follow the accounts below on social media to stay up to date on initiatives in all areas of sport that increase the visibility of high achieving men and women of the black community!

  • If you missed it, our friends in the NFL made history with the FIRST all-black officiating crew! You can check out the coverage of the historic moment HERE.

Have other recommendations of accounts members should follow for more coverage of the black community or another historic moment from this past year? Let us know at communications@nisoa.com and we can update this article accordingly!
